As we head into Week 2 of the NFL season, fantasy football managers are always on the lookout for those hidden gems that could give their team an edge. Here are the top 5 fantasy football sleepers to consider for Week 2:

1. Baker Mayfield, QB, Tampa Bay BuccaneersBaker Mayfield is emerging as a surprising fantasy option after a stellar Week 1 performance. He threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns against the Commanders.This week, Mayfield faces the Lions, who allowed Matthew Stafford to rack up the second-most passing yards in Week 1. Given the Buccaneers' likely need to keep up with Detroit's offense, Mayfield could be in for another strong outing.

2. Jaleel McLaughlin, RB, Denver BroncosMcLaughlin led the Broncos in carries last week with 10, compared to Javonte Williams' eight. He also caught all five of his targets, showcasing his potential in PPR formats. Against a tough Steelers defense in Week 2, the Broncos may rely on quick passes and dump-offs, making McLaughlin an intriguing flex option, especially in PPR leagues.

3. Tyler Johnson, WR, Los Angeles RamsWith Puka Nacua on injured reserve, Tyler Johnson has an opportunity to step up for the Rams. In Week 1, Johnson tied for the second-highest target share (14.6%) on the team after Nacua's early exit. 5. Colby Parkinson, TE, Los Angeles RamsWith Tyler Higbee sidelined, Parkinson dominated the tight end snaps for the Rams in Week 1, playing on 87.8% of snaps and running routes on 80.4% of plays. He caught 4 passes for 47 yards on 5 targets and was involved in 76.9% of the team's red-zone snaps. 3 QB Sleepers for the 2024 Season

1) Trevor Lawrence

Are we going to get the "middle of the pack" TLaw this season? Or will he take the next step in fantasy production? I'm betting on Trevor Lawrence being a top 10 QB in 2024. Why? He's got the size, skills, arm and now the experience. Some of his throws over the preseason were a thing of beauty. In addition, Lawrence likes to push the ball downfield and he is highly rated in that category among his NFL QB Peers. Now with Brian Thomas Jr streaking downfield, who has the skills to beat defenders with speed, hands and body control, as well as Gabe Davis, Lawrence should connect on a lot more of those deep balls in 2024. Calvin Ridley proved to be fools gold with the Falcons, and that rang true during his stint with the Jags. Expect TLaw to take the next step in 2024 with this re-tooled offense. 

2) Matthew Stafford

We already know that Stafford has a rocket arm and two highly ranked WRs in Kupp and Nacua. There there is the running game with Williams and Corum. This is a stacked team! Let's not go over complicating things. Stafford has the experience, skill and arm strength to deliver the rock and that's all we need to know. Pencil Stafford into your lineup as a late round pick and watch him ring up the fantasy scoreboard. 

3) Baker Mayfield

This selection goes in line with the Stafford pick... we have an experienced QB with a good arm, who has good weapons at WR and RB. Baker put up great numbers in 2023. In fact, he was significantly undervalued for the production he put up last season. Going into 2024, nothing has changed and another year of continuity should only help this passing attack spearheaded by Evans and Godwin. If you're looking for cheap production or even a breakout campaign, Baker Mayfield is a sound choice. 

3 WR Sleepers for the 2024 Season

1) Marvin Mims Jr

Number one on my list is Mims. This second year WR finds himself rocketing up the depth chart with Jeudy and Patrick out. He’s fast. He’s explosive. He was the alpha WR at Oklahoma in college. Now is the time for Mims to rise in the pros. He was Sean Payton’s first draft selection last year. And the Broncos moved up to get him! Now in his second year, expect Mims to be a major threat in the new look Bo Nix Offense.

105 rec, 1367 yards, 10TDs and 3 KR/PR TDs.

2) Brian Thomas Jr

Thomas finds himself as the possible WR1 right out of the game in week 1. Is Trevor Lawrence ready to take the next step as a passer? It’s now or never in Jacksonville and the arrow is pointing up. T Law has looked sharp in preseason action. BTj has been as advertised; a sure handed deep threat with blazing speed. That position was vacated by Calvin Ridley last year. Expect Thomas to exceed Ridley’s production in 2024. This 8th round WR could be this seasons league winner.

3) Khalil Shakir

The fantasy community has been down on Shakir in 2024. Which is a mistake. He’s a great route runner with quickness and sticky hands. He’ll move around the formation as Allen’s top option this season and gobble up targets along with Kinkaid.
